Duleep Trophy: West Zone clinches title after thumping 294 run win against South Zone

West Zone won the 2022 Duleep Trophy after a massive 294 run win over South Zone on the final day of the 5th test in Coimbatore on Sunday.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led side put up a massive total of 585 for four in their second innings, courtesy a 265 by Yasashvi Jaiswal and 127 by Sarfraz Khan. South Zone on the other hand, was bowled out for 234 in 71.2 overs. Major contributor with the ball was spinner Shams Mulani who had a decent spell of 4/51 on the final day.

An all-round show helped West Zone win despite conceding a 1st innings lead and become the most successful team in the Duleep Trophy tournament with 19 titles.
