Disney Star bags Cricket Australia's television rights in India

In order to tap India's sports market, Cricket Australia has signed a seven-year deal with Disney Star for broadcasting the country's cricket matches in India.

As per the deal, which will commence from the 2023-24 season, Disney Star will televise all international cricket matches played in Australia along with the KFC Big Bash League and Weber Women's Big Bash League in India.

Disney Star will take over the television rights from Sony Sports Network, which has been broadcasting the cricket matches since the 2017-18 season in India. 

Recently, Disney Star bagged the TV broadcasting rights of the Indian Premier League for five years, which will start in 2023.
