Bangladesh strip head coach Russell Domingo of T20 duties, S Sriram given responsibility

With the Asia Cup less than a week away, Bangladesh have removed head coach Russell Domingo from T20I duties.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan announced the decision, stating that the South African won't be part of the T20 setup, and has been asked to focus on ODIs and Tests.

While there's no head coach for The Bangladeshi T20I team will now be looked after by the newly-appointed technical director Sridharan Sriram, along with the other coaches apart from Domingo.

47-year-old Domingo was appointed the head coach of Bangladesh in 2019 for an initial period of 2 years. While the BCB extended his stay till November 2023, he has come under fire for Bangladesh's poor show in the shortest format.

Under Domingo, Bangladesh didn't win a single game in the Super 12 Stage of the T20 World Cup and since then, they have won only 2 out of their last 11 T20Is.
