Delhi Capitals' coach Ricky Ponting feels Rishabh Pant who guided the team to its maiden IPL final in 2020 has done a terrific job so far. The former Australian skipper lavishly heaped praise on the 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman for his work at the franchise. 'Rishabh's level of maturity in the last 2 seasons has gone through the roofs', Ponting said.

The head coach who readily backed Pant's name for captaincy after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out with an injury further said that the team wants to go a step further this year and Pant will play an integral part in that.

This year before the IPL was hit by Covid-19, Delhi registered 6 wins out of 8 matches under Pant's captaincy.
