Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday met Punjab Congress chief, Sunil Jakhar amid reports that the cricketer-turned-politician may be given a promotion to address the infighting.
Sidhu who has led a revolt against the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh in recent weeks, met the party's state unit chief at the latter's residence in Panchkula to seek his ‘guidance’.
The meeting took place hours ahead of Amarinder Singh's meeting with Harish Rawat, the Congress's Punjab in-charge who flew in on a state government chopper late in the morning.
Rawat was flown in a day after the CM reportedly wrote an angry letter to Congress interim chief Sonia Gnadhi objecting to Sidhu's reported elevation as chief of their state unit.
