Pollution levels soared in some areas of Mumbai, giving rise to hazy conditions for the second day in a row on Sunday, the Hindustan Times reported.
The skyline was engulfed by a layer of smog as the Air Quality index for PM2.5 was recorded at 100 or satisfactory.
The System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research(SAFAR) said this was the worst air quality recorded since March, stating that moisture in the air has increased its capacity of carrying pollutants
The condition at Bandra Kurla Complex was the worst, with an AQI of 304 on Sunday, followed by Navi Mumbai which had a moderate AQI at 156.
