After their spectacular performance at Tokyo 2020, the Indian men's and women's hockey teams have achieved their highest-ever world rankings. The men's team grabbed the 3rd spot, and the women's team attained the 8th spot in the revised world rankings. Both teams jumped one spot each. The Manpreet Singh-led side is placed behind Olympic gold medallist Belgium and silver medallist Australia.

While the men's team ended a 41-year-long dry spell by winning a bronze medal in Japan, the women's team narrowly missed their chance as they ended up fourth after suffering a defeat at the hands of Great Britain in the bronze medal match.
