Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 13 March 2023 congratulated Kartiki Gonsalves, Guneet Monga, and the entire team of 'The Elephant Whisperers' after it won the Best Documentary Short Film award at the Oscars.
PM Modi said that the film "wonderfully highlights the importance of sustainable development and living in harmony with nature".
The documentary made India proud at the 2023 Academy Awards along with 'RRR's song 'Naatu Naatu' which won the Best Original Song award.
