The makers of ‘Yashoda’, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, have landed in controversy days after the film was released in theatres. According to reports, EVA IVF Hospital has taken legal action against the action thriller, directed by Hari and Harish, as the film shows their hospital in a negative light.
The EVA IVF Hospital claims that the way the surrogacy mafia is shown in ‘Yashoda’ can harm their credibility and reputation. The Hyderabad court has reportedly responded to the case and decided in the hospital’s favour by postponing the film’s OTT release till December 19.
‘Yashoda’, which was released in theatres on November 11, stars Samantha as a surrogate mother and revolves around the surrogacy mafia in the hospital named IVF.
The civil court has written to the makers and ordered them to stop the film’s digital release or premiere while the case is still ongoing.
There is no official statement from the makers of ‘Yashoda’ yet. The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukandan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, Madhurima, Kalpika Ganesh, Divya Sripada and Priyanka Sharma in pivotal roles.
