Filmmaker S S Rajamouli ‘overwhelmed’ as RRR becomes No. 1 non-English film globally on Netflix

The team of ‘RRR’ is currently basking in the success of their film. The Ram Charan-NTR Jr. starrer is trending as the number one non-English film globally on Netflix. It is among the Top 10 films in 57 countries including US, Brazil, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, South Africa, Australia and UAE.

For two consecutive weeks, the film has been watched for more than 25.5 million hours.
Talking about the success of his film on Netflix, filmmaker S S Rajamouli said that audience has proved its love for ‘RRR’ once again.

‘It has been astonishing to see our labour of love being accepted by audiences around the world. We’re absolutely overwhelmed by the response RRR has received on Netflix,’ he said.

‘RRR,’ which also features Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt and Shriya Saran, is India’s second film, after ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ to become number one non-English film globally on Netflix.

Other Indian films in this week’s global list for non-English films are ‘Jersey’ and ‘Toolsidas Junior.’
‘RRR’ was released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi theatres on March 25. It has earned over ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office.
