Kapil Sharma's new film Zwigato was released in cinemas on Friday. Nandita Das' directorial debuted with 42 lakhs on the first day. The actor-comedian's performancein the film, which stars Shahana Goswami as his wife, has been praised.
On Saturday, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film's opening day figures on Twitter, writing, 'Released at limited screens [409] and shows, Zwigato puts up a dull score on day 1... The buzz is positive, but it needs to translate into foot traffic over the weekend... Friday, 42 lacs. India biz (business).'
Kapil, who hosts his hit comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show, said he related to Zwigato's story because of his own experience.
"I used to be a Coca-Cola employee. When we first arrive in Mumbai, we all do odd jobs here and there. The product was transported in trucks. Back then, there were no apps. However, when Nandita ma'am approached me and told me about all the difficulties delivery guys face, I could really relate to that story," he told PTI in an interview.

The actor expressed that he very curious to know why Nandita Das wanted to team up on the film with him. He asked her, 'Why me?'. To which Nandita replied, 'Even if global star Shah Rukh Khan had agreed to do the film, I would not have taken him, but chosen you because you have such a common face, it can fit anywhere in a crowd,' she replied.
Kapil also stated that, 'To which I couldn't decide whether to take her response as a compliment or an insult. '
