A 'My Ganga My Dolphin' campaign has been launched by the National Mission for Clean Ganga, the Wildlife Institute of India and the Forest Department to mark Ganga River Dolphin Day.

As a part of this, dolphin safaris have been launched at six sites along the banks of river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

The Ganga Praharis in all the sites have been trained in biodiversity-based eco-tourism and will take the tourists on boat rides to view Dolphin and explore the biodiversity of the holy river.

Announcing the initiative via video conference, the Jal Shakti Minister congratulated the nation and informed that the population of Gangetic Dolphins has increased in recent years.
