Actor Kangana Ranaut on Monday filed a counter-complaint against lyricist Javed Akhtar in a Mumbai court, alleging extortion and invasion of privacy.
She also accused Javed Akhtar of threatening her and said she did not trust the judge at the Metropolitan Magistrate's court in Andheri.
Kangana's complaints were in response to a defamation suit by the veteran lyricist, who has alleged she dragged his name into a TV discussion last year on the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
The two came face-to-face at the Mumbai court, where Kangana arrived accompanied by her enhanced CRPF security entourage.
During the hearing, Kangana's lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, accused Javed Akhtar of making threatening phone calls, in which he allegedly said "... you would commit suicide".
Kangana had been originally called to the court last week, but stayed away citing ill health, her lawyer had said he had "developed Covid-19 symptoms". Kangana's lawyer also said that the actor wants the judge in this case to be changed.
The court had warned Kangana that failing to appear would result in an arrest warrant against her. On Monday, the court marked her attendance and postponed the hearing till October 1.
Kangana has also filed an application to transfer the case; which will be heard on November 15.
