Shankar Mishra, the man who allegedly urinated on a woman passenger on an Air India flight in November 2022, was denied bail by a Delhi court on 11 January 2023.

The court called the alleged actions "utterly disgusting and repulsive", and "sufficient to outrage the modesty of any woman". The judge also said that Mishra had tried to contact the victim, and attempts to influence witnesses cannot be ruled out.

Earlier, Mishra's lawyer had said that his act was not driven by sexual desire or for outraging the victim's modesty.

The alleged incident had occurred on November 26 last year when a drunk Mishra walked up to the woman's seat in the business class on an Air India New York-New Delhi flight, exposed himself and urinated on her.
