UP man allegedly shoots himself after sons refuse haircut

A 45-year-old man in Varanasi allegedly shot himself on March 25 after his sons refused to get haircuts till he stopped drinking alcohol. 

According to the police, Shiv Prakash Singh asked his teenaged sons to get their hair cut on Holi and left for the festival celebrations. After coming back he saw that his sons had not gone for a haircut and got into an argument with them. He allegedly shot himself in the head with his own pistol during the argument.

The family members then took him to the hospital where he is reportedly in a critical condition. According to the police, the family members have said that Singh was not drunk or under the influence during the incident.
