Delhi has enough Covaxin to last only a day and Covishield enough for around four days, the state government sent SOS to the Centre on Monday. Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said Delhi needs vaccines at the earliest. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier flagged a shortage of vaccines, pointing out that people from neighbouring areas like Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon were also driving to Delhi for Covid shots. Kejriwal has requested the Centre to provide Delhi with 83 lakh doses every month to vaccinate all adults within the next three months.
