West Bengal is voting today in the sixth phase of Assembly elections. Voting is taking place on 43 assembly seats across four districts under the shadow of rising Covid cases. In a first, Bengal has crossed the 10,000-mark in fresh coronavirus cases. The fate of several heavyweight candidates will be decided in this phase. Three ministers, several film stars, many TMC turncoats and Mukul Roy, the first Trinamool leader to join the BJP. The unprecedented eight-phase election in the state started on March 27. After today, two more phases will remain. Polling will be held on April 26 and 29. The counting of votes will be held on May 2.
