Twitter has announced that it's shutting down its live-streaming app Periscope due to declining usage over the last few years, and high maintenance costs. The micro-blogging platform said Periscope has been in "an unsustainable maintenance-mode state", and leaving it in its current state would not be the right decision. It's worth noting that Periscope's abilities that have been integrated into Twitter will still be available, but the dedicated app will be removed from app stores by March 2021.
