Tokyo Olympics 2020: PM Modi congratulates Indian Hockey Teams as they march into semis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took to Twitter to laud the glorious efforts of both the Women's and the Men's Hockey Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

PM Modi said that the historic efforts by the two hockey teams are heartening to every Indian. 

Both Parliament houses also congratulated the spectacular victory of both the teams. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, Rahul Gandhi, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik also praised both the teams for their splendid performance at Tokyo 2020.

While the Indian Women's team defeated Australia to reach the semi-finals for the first time ever, the Men's team too, defeated Great Britain to reach the semi-finals after 49 years.
