If you are part of a K-pop band that is a global sensation, fist-bumping presidents of countries may seem like an ordinary day at work!
BTS met South Korean President Moon Jae-in at his office to collect their appointment papers as special envoys for public diplomacy, and videos of the Bangtan boys fist-bumping their President one by one is going viral.
Last July, the South Korean President had appointed BTS, consisting of RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, Suga, V and Jungkook as Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture.
This came ahead of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, following which the South Korean boy band will start their activities as the “special presidential envoys".
The South Korean govt in a statement said, that as BTS has delivered messages of comfort and hope to the entire world, their attendance at the UN General Assembly is expected to serve as a meaningful opportunity to expand communication with future generations around the world and draw their attention on major international issues.
According to a South Korean news portal, BTS will speak during their UN session and a video of their performance will be played. BTS members were also gifted diplomatic passports and signature fountain pens.
