PM Modi during a virtual interaction on Friday the chief ministers of six states called on them to step up efforts to follow the centre's 'test, track, treat and teeka (vaccinate)' system to contain the coronavirus.
The Prime Minister met chief ministers from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, Kerala and Maharashtra - the six states which have contributed 80 per cent of new cases and 84 per cent of deaths in the past week.

He said stopping the third wave of Covid is a ‘priority’ and added It is very important that the states, where cases are increasing, should take proactive measures to stop explosion of the infection.
PM Modi also emphasized on the need to be aware, alert and strict to avoid overcrowding at public places.
