Samsung Gauss is the first in-house developed generative AI model by the South Korean company. It has been revealed at the Samsung AI Forum 2023.

Samsung's generative AI model reflects the company's vision of harnessing AI to enhance consumer lives by drawing from a wealth of worldly phenomena and knowledge.

Component Breakdown

Samsung Gauss comprises three distinct components: Language, Code, and Image. The Language component is designed to boost work efficiency by aiding in tasks such as document summarization, email writing, and translation.

Furthermore, it has the potential to enhance consumer experiences by enabling intelligent device control when integrated into products. The Code component, along with its associated coding assistant code.i, has been developed for in-house software development.

Its interactive interface supports functions like code description and test case generation, streamlining the coding process.

Finally, the Image component offers the capability to generate and modify images, facilitating style adjustments, additions, and transformation of low-resolution images into high-resolution ones.

Current and Future Applications

At present, Samsung Gauss is being utilised to enhance employee productivity within the organisation.

However, the company has plans to expand its usage to product applications in the near future, allowing for broader integration and impact.

Privacy and Security Measures

Samsung is demonstrably committed to ensuring the privacy and security of consumer data. By employing on-device applications for the Samsung Gauss model, the company seeks to safeguard private information.

Additionally, to address potential security and privacy concerns across all facets of AI implementation, Samsung has established an AI Red Team.

This dedicated team rigorously examines and assesses security and privacy issues related to data collection, AI model development, service deployment, and generated results.
