According to reports, there have been numerous instances of false alarms being sent to rescue officials by skiers using the crash detection feature on Apple's latest iPhones and Apple Watches.

This feature, which utilizes multiple sensors to detect car accidents, was launched this year and has caused stress for rescue authorities due to the high volume of accidental activations.

The Columbia Search and Rescue Association first brought attention to this issue a couple of weeks ago, and during the winter holidays, 911 rescue teams in Summit County, Colorado alone received over 70 false calls from just four ski resorts. These events raise concerns about the reliability of this new feature.
