Apple is gearing up for a noteworthy spring with the anticipated launch of updated iPad Pro models, a revamped iPad Air lineup, and MacBook Air laptops equipped with the new M3 chip. This series of launches, expected around March or April, marks a shift in Apple's strategy.

However, unlike previous years, Apple may forego a live event in favor of website announcements, according to tech journalist Mark Gurman.

No Dedicated Event Expected

Gurman's perspective suggests Apple will  deviate from its usual spring event format, such as the "Peek Performance" event held in 2022.  Instead of a live-streamed presentation, Gurman anticipates new Apple products in 2024 to be announced via press releases and videos on the company website.

iPad Pro Takes Center Stage

The centerpiece of Apple's spring lineup is expected to be the redesigned iPad Pro, featuring both 11-inch and 12.9-inch models with vibrant OLED displays and the powerful M3 chip. Notably, this could mark the first time a 12.9-inch model is introduced in the more affordable iPad Air range. Updated accessories for the revised iPads, including a refreshed Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard, are also anticipated.

MacBook Air Upgrade with M3 Power

Alongside the iPad updates, upgraded 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are expected, boasting Apple's next-generation M3 chip. This new chip promises significant performance gains over the M2 currently found in some MacBook models.

Release Timeline and Software Support

While unconfirmed, the spring hardware releases are likely to arrive in late March or early April, according to Gurman. Apple is expected to align the launch with a dedicated iOS 17.4 software update optimized to support the new devices.
