According to famed Apple analyst Mark Gurmnan, the upcoming October Apple event could be dropped in favour of multiple digital launches.
Apple launches new Macs and iPads at a dedicated event in October every year. However, Gurman claims that Apple does not have enough new products to justify a dedicated event this year.
Apple has previously released some relatively significant products, such as the AirPods Max and the original AirPods Pro, via press release.
So, the new M2 powered iPad Pros and the updated 10 generation iPad could be revealed on Apple’s newsroom on a certain day in October, whereas the updated new Macs could be digitally revealed on another day.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said that Apple is currently "likely to release its remaining 2022 products via press releases, updates to its website and briefings with select members of the press".
In June, Apple introduced the M2 chip for the redesigned MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro. Other than the new chip, the updates to the Macs and iPads are expected to be relatively minor, with no major design changes rumoured.
