According to Reuters, Apple's key supplier, Foxconn, has won an order to manufacture AirPods and is planning to build a factory in India to produce the wireless earphones.

The company plans to invest over $200 million in the new plant in the south Indian state of Telangana.

The decision to set up production in India was reportedly requested by Apple. AirPods are currently made by a range of Chinese suppliers, and this deal with Foxconn represents Apple’s efforts to further diversify production away from China.
