Despite Indian batter KL Rahul's lacklustre form in the T20 World Cup 2022 for Team India, batting coach Vikram Rathour feels that a couple of failed games do not justify dropping the player and replacing him with someone else.

KL Rahul has scored a total of 10 runs in Team India's two World Cup matches against Pakistan and the Netherlands so far. With Rishabh Pant waiting eagerly on the sidelines, a lot of people are wondering if the wicketkeeper-batter should play instead of Rahul.

And while Rathour said Rishabh Pant will get his chance, the team management is not ready to drop KL Rahul just yet.

"Only 11 can play unfortunately and I know and understand Rishabh is a fantastic player and we know he can be destructive against any opposition," said Rathour in his press conference

"The message to him is to be ready and your chance might come anytime. He should be mentally and physically ready. He is doing that and you might have seen him practicing regularly. I am sure he will be ready whenever the opportunity comes," he further added.
