PM Modi declares 36th National Games open in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 36th National Games in Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.

Along with Prime Minister Modi, Anurag Thakur, the Union minister for Youth Affairs and Sports was also present during the grand opening ceremony of the Games that are being held after a long gap of 7 years.

Prime Minister in his speech to the bustling crowd at the stadium lauded the sportspersons of the nation and said that the soft power of sports will significantly improve India's image. He also added that in the past sports were marred with nepotism and corruption instead of professionalism.

He also advised the youth to focus on 3Cs- Competition, commitment, and continuity to achieve success in life.

Around 7000 national athletes from across India are participating in 36 sporting events that will be hosted in the 36th edition of the National Games.
