Two-time Olympic Champion David Rudisha survives plane crash

Two-time Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha survived a plane crash in south-east Kenya on Saturday.

Rudisha was pictured alongside the plane which was upside down in a field.

The 33-year-old escaped unharmed and described the crash as a "scary episode."

One of the other occupants, Stephen Ole Marai, was being treated in hospital for rib injuries, while others were taken to hospital with minor injuries but later discharged.

Rudisha, who won gold at London 2012 and Rio 2016, was returning from the annual Maasai Olympics at Kimana Wildlife Sanctuary in Kajiado county.

Three years ago, in August 2019, Rudisha also escaped unharmed following a car crash when a tyre burst and his SUV collided head-on with a bus.
