India's PR Sreejesh, Savita Punia win FIH Men's and Women's Goalkeepers of Year award

Indian hockey players PR Sreejesh and Savita Punia have won the FIH Men's and Women's Goalkeeper of the Year respectively for the second time in a row.

While there were 5 goalkeepers in the race for the coveted title, Sreejesh won with 39.9 total points in the voting.

Meanwhile, Savita too finished on top of the voting with 37.6 points. The votes were cast online by experts (40%), teams (20%), fans (20%) and media (20%).

The 34-year-old is the third player to win back-to-back FIH Men's Goalkeeper of the Year award. 

After winning the award, the magnificent women's goalkeeper became only the third female athlete to win the Goalkeeper of the Year (women) for consecutive years since the inception of the award in 2014.
