Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has slammed Kolkata Knight Riders for their unusual treatment of the left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav. The chinaman spinner playing for Delhi Capitals this season picked up 3/18 from four overs in the opening match against Mumbai Indians dismissing Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, and Anmolpreet Singh. Kuldeep looked different than the one who used to play at KKR.
Kaif questioned KKR’s handling of Kuldeep saying that because of the unusual treatment of the franchise, Kuldeep felt too much pressure and lost his form.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, Mohammad kaif said that a proven match-winner player like Kuldeep Yadav needs to be managed well. Kuldeep feels emotional and low if he is dropped from the team.
Kaif further said that under KKR, he used to be made to sit at home, not even in the squad when he wasn't performing well which pressurized him even more. The team didn't trust him.
The mental pressure of rejection from KKR was reflected in his Indian form as well.
