Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul has become the first Indian cricketer in IPL history to cross the 500-run mark for 5 consecutive seasons. KL Rahul smashed 68 runs off 51 balls vs Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai to cross the 500-run mark in IPL 2022.
Former Punjab Kings batter smashed 616 runs in IPL 2021 and had won the Orange Cap in IPL 2020 in which he scored 670 runs. In IPL 2018 and IPL 2019, he amassed 659 and 593 runs respectively. With this record, Rahul also joined Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan, who have scored over 500 runs in five different seasons.
The LSG captain now has 537 runs in 14 matches including 2 centuries and 3 half centuries.

Earlier, IPL 2020 Orange Cap winner KL Rahul and South Africa's Quinton de Kock put on a record 210-run stand for LSG against KKR. LSG won the thriller by 2 runs and has become the second team to qualify for the playoffs.
