IPL 2022: KKR's Pat Cummins ruled out of remaining season

Kolkata Knight Riders' Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the remaining season of the IPL 2022 due to a minor hip injury, as reported by cricket.com.au. KKR management is yet to confirm the development. 

The Australian fast bowler will return to Sydney and is expected to make a full recovery before Australia's Sri Lanka tour which is set to take place in June. However, he will be missing the T20I leg of the Sri Lanka tour.

Cummins who was bought by KKR for a whopping Rs 7.25 crore in the IPL 2022 Mega Auctions did not have a great outing this season. In the 5 matches that he played, Cummins picked only 7 wickets at an economy of 10.68. This includes his match-winning figures of 3/22 against Mumbai Indians. 

Kolkata Knight Riders are currently sitting at the 7th spot in the IPL points table with 5 wins in 12 matches. The Shreyas Iyer-led side needs to win their remaining 2 matches to remain in the IPL playoff contention.
