BCCI announced the squad for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, starting January 3.
Hardik Pandya has been named the captain of the Indian side in T20Is with Suryakumar Yadav named his deputy. Three senior players in Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli haven't been included for the 3-match series.
Rohit, Kohli and Rahul though will return for the 50-over series but Pant has not been named in either of the two squads.

The big talking point though was the omission of Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI squad. The 37-year-old has been dropped after inconsistent returns, with Shubman Gill & Ishan Kishan now the preferred second opening options for India.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul is no more the vice-captain, with Pandya replacing him in the role.
