When most sports bodies made Covid-19 vaccinations mandatory for their players, the owner of a Romanian football club barred vaccinated players from playing for his team.

Romanian MP Gigi Becali, the owner of Steaua Bucharest club, believes that vaccinated players are powerless.

Becali claims that Bucharest's rival clubs are struggling as most of their squads are vaccinated.

"You’re going to laugh, but I might be right. Those vaccinated lose their strength. That’s something scientific", Becali said.

Notably, Becali took a stake in the 1986 European Cup winner, Steaua Bucharest, in 2003.
