FIFA World Cup 2022: Cameroon stun Brazil 1-0; Switzerland beat Serbia 3-2

Cameroon though ended their 20-year-long wait to register a win at the FIFA World Cup by beating the world no. 1 Brazil, they failed to make it to the round of 16. 

A stoppage-time goal from Vincent Aboubakar was enough for the indomitable Lions to beat the Neymar-less Brazil 1-0 in their final Group G game at the Lusail Stadium. Brazil who had already registered wins in their previous group games despite the loss comfortably reached the next round as table leaders. They will next face South Korea on December 6th. 

On the other hand Switzerland defeated Serbia 3-2 to reach the round of 16 for the third consecutive time. The game that oscillated throughout first saw Xherdan Shaqiri finding the net in the 20th minute, then Alexander Mitrovic levelled it 6 minutes later and within next 10 minutes, Dusan Vlahovic doubled it. Breel Embrolo and Remo Fruler then in the 2nd half sealed the deal with each scoring a goal in the 2nd half. 

Switzerland will next face Portugal in the last-16 game on 7th December.
