Delhi Capitals' Head Coach Ricky Ponting has heaped praise on Rishabh Pant saying that Pant is dynamic and explosive and will be dangerous in the Australian conditions at the World T20 this year.

Former Australia captain said on ICC Review that Pant's batting position must be flexible and he should be listed at five in the batting line-up but in certain situations, he should come to bat early.

Notably, the 24-year-old was made the 8th captain for India in men's T20I cricket after KL Rahul suffered an injury. Ponting and Pant have worked closely at Delhi Capitals.

Ponting further said that Pant is an outstanding young man who will be exceptionally dangerous on the good, fast, flat and bouncy Australian wickets at the T20 World Cup. "He'll be one of the players to watch at the tournament for sure," said ex-Australian cricketer.

Rishabh Pant scored 29 runs off 16 balls in the first match of the 5 matches T20I series against South Africa which India lost by 7 wickets.
