Ranji Trophy 2022: Rahane, Pujara to play for Mumbai & Saurashtra respectively

The veteran Test duo of Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane who have been struggling with their bat are set to participate in the upcoming Ranji Trophy which starts on 10th February.

While Pujara has been named in the Saurashtra squad, Ajinkya Rahane will be seen playing for Mumbai. Saurashtra will be led by Jaydev Unadkat and Prithvi Shaw will lead the Mumbai team. Both Mumbai and Saurashtra have been placed alongside Odisha and Goa in Group D. Both batters have been under scrutiny for a long time now. While Pujara scored a hundred in Tests three years ago, Ajinkya Rahane's ton came in 2020 December. 

Ranji Trophy which did not take place last year due to Covid-19 will be played in 2 phases this year. The first phase will be played till March 15 and the next phase will resume after IPL from May 30th.
