Mohammed Siraj touched down in Brisbane on Sunday to join Team India ahead of T20 World Cup 2022 as part of the reserve players.

The fast bowler was originally not a part of the travelling squad but was added to the standby players' list after Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the tournament due to a back stress fracture.

Siraj had earlier replaced Bumrah in India's T20 squad for the T20Is vs South Africa and was considered as the front-runner to be his replacement for the T20 World Cup as well. However, Mohammed Shami was promoted to the main squad as Bumrah's replacement.
