Lucknow Super Giants owner RPSG appoint Lance Klusener as Durban franchise head coach

Lucknow Super Giants owner RPSG Group on Monday roped in former South Africa cricketer Lance Klusener as the head coach of its Durban franchise for Cricket South Africa's T20 League.

The 50-year-old former South African has had a good coaching experience having been the head coach of the Afghanistan men's team from September 2019 to December 2021. Klusener has also worked as the batting coach of Zimbabwe and South Africa in the past and was also part of the coaching staff of the Mumbai Indians.

Klusener in a statement said that he was honoured to join the RPSG family. 'This is a new challenge for me and It makes me very proud,' added the former all-rounder.

6 IPL franchise owners have bought all six teams in South Africa's new T20 league. The RP Sanjeev Goenka group, which paid a record sum of ₹7090 crores to buy the Lucknow IPL franchise last year, picked up the Durban team.
