Heather Graham starred with a hat-trick as Australia crushed the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team by 54 runs to clinch the 5-match series 4-1 at the Brabourne stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing a daunting 197, the Women in Blue crumbled for 142 as Graham registered impressive figures of 4/8, becoming only the second woman cricketer from her country to take a T20 hat-trick. Apart from her, Ashleigh Gardner too, picked 2 wickets. For India, Deepti Sharma top-scored with a 34-ball 53.
Sent in to bat first, the Aussies blew away the Indians as they piled on an enormous 196/4 in the final T20 of the series. Though the Indian bowlers found some initial success, removing 3 wickets in the first 7 overs, they fell flat against Ashleigh Gardner (66 off 32) and Grace Harris (64 off 35), who went on to smash scintillating unbeaten fifties to post a mammoth 196, the highest total of the series.
