Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root put on a show in Edgbaston as England humbled India by 7 wickets in the 5th Test. The hosts shattered India's dream of winning a Test series in England for the first time in 15 years as the 5-match Test series ended at 2-2.

India needed a miracle on the final day to bounce back which was denied to them. Bairstow and Root continued to tame Bumrah's boys and smashed a hundred each. While Root scored his 4th hundred of the series, Bairstow reached the 3-figure mark for the 4th time in the last 5 Test innings.

Indian bowlers looked clueless as the duo carried England over the finish line with an unbeaten 269-run stand. It's now the highest-successful run chase on any England ground and the biggest vs India.

India has now lost 3 consecutive overseas tests, with bowlers failing to defend decent totals in all of those games.
