India will host the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup as the BCCI successfully bid for the mega event during the ICC Annual Conference in Birmingham on Tuesday. The last time India hosted a women's ODI World Cup was back in 2013, which Australia won.

Apart from that, Bangladesh will host the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup while the 2026 edition will be played in England. The inaugural Women's T20 Champions Trophy in 2027 will be hosted by Sri Lanka.

The hosts were selected via a bidding process overseen by an ICC Board sub-committee which included BCCI President Sourav Ganguly. After the conference, Dada said that the popularity of women’s cricket is rapidly rising and this is a step in the right direction. The BCCI will work closely with the ICC and fulfil all the requirements.
