Speaking to Inside Sport he further added that he supports KL Rahul but in absence of Kohli the team missed aggression, and Rahane would have been a better choice.
While KL Rahul made his debut as a Test skipper in Johannesburg, he failed to impress as India faced a 7-wicket loss against South Africa.
On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane who has played a pivotal role in many Test series wins was stripped of his vice-captaincy duties, which have now been handed to Rohit Sharma.
India will next meet South Africa in the decider of the 3-match series in Cape Town on 11th Jan.
