IND vs SA: BCCI announce India squad for three-match ODI series vs Proteas

The BCCI selection committee announced the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa on Sunday.

Senior batter Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain while Shreyas Iyer will be his deputy.

On the back of good performances in domestic cricket as well as for India A, Rajat Patidar has received his maiden call-up to the national side while Bengal all-rounder Mukesh Kumar is the other new face in the 16-member squad.

Meanwhile, India's travelling reserve for the T20 World Cup in Australia -- Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Chahar  & Ravi Bishnoi -- are also part of India's ODI squad.

Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are the two wicket-keeper batters in the squad with Shahbaz Ahmed and Shardul Thakur are the bowling all-rounders.

Fast bowler Avesh Khan who missed important games in the Asia Cup due to health issues has been included, along with Mohammed Siraj. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav too is part of the squad.

Siraj, Deepak Chahar.
