One of pillars of Indian batting, Cheteshwar Pujara has struggled to find his feet in recent matches, particularly against top-ranked teams.
It raised a few eyebrows when Pujara was dismissed for just 1 run in the 1st inninsg of the 3rd Test vs Australia.
It was once again Nathan Lyon who got the better of the Indian batter and dismissed him for the 12th time in Tests.
Sadly, he has averaged just over 19 in the 1st innings since 2021. That includes 22 innings.
Pujara, who recently played his 100th Test, has failed to put up good scores against top-ranked Test sides.
Since January 2020, Pujara averages under 30 in 48 innings and has managed to score just 1 hundred, that was against Bangladesh.
Clearly, Team India is missing Pujara, who once used to be the backbone of the team.
