The International Cricket Council will conduct an e-auction in the second round for the media rights, confirmed an ICC source on Friday. This, however, will only happen if the bidders quote an identical amount in the opening round of bids for the media rights.

As per ICC, bidders are expected to submit sealed bids for round 1, and the e-auction will be held only if there is a tie.

'If the auction goes to the 2nd round, it will be an e-auction, a straight shootout f there are similar bids and a clear winner is needed, the source told PTI.

ICC has offered 3 packages that will go under the hammer in August for a 4-year term starting in 2024. Package A is for TV rights, Package B is for digital media rights, and the third package, Package C is for TV and media rights. Apart from the media rights for a total of 465 international senior men's & women's matches, rights for additional games in the U-19 men's and women's categories have also been packaged for sale.
