Asia Cup 2022: 'Out of syllabus', Jadeja dodges question about Rishabh Pant's absence vs Pakistan

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who addressed the media on the eve of the India-Hong Kong game, decided to sidestep questions about Rishabh Pant in his presser.

When asked about his promotion to No. 4 and Pant's exclusion from the playing XI, Jadeja only answered about his batting position and chose to ignore the question on Pant. Speaking about Rohit Sharma’s gameplan against Pakistan in their Asia Cup opener, Jadeja said, ‘Being the only lefty in Top 7, team decided to send me’.

The 33-year-old further chose to avoid the question about Rishabh Pant’s inclusion in the Playing XI in the next Asia Cup match. He said that he is unaware of this at all and added, ‘it is a question outside his book.’

India is set to face Hong Kong in their 2nd Group A match in the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup on Wednesday.
