It was an eventful day 9 for India at Commonwealth Games 2022 as medals galore with all 6 wrestlers ending up on the podium in their respective weight categories. This makes it a total of 12 podium finishes for the wrestlers in all 12 categories.

Here is how the overnight results went by for India.

BOXING

Boxer Sagar Ahlawat beat his Nigerian opponent 5-0 via a unanimous decision to enter the final of the men's over 92kg category. With that, he has assured at least a silver for himself.

However, Mohammed Hussamuddin and Rohit Tokas had to settle for a bronze each in the men's 57 kg featherweight and 67 kg categories respectively. While Hussamuddin lost his semifinal 1-4, Rohit went down 2-3 in quarters.

TABLE TENNIS

India's Mixed Doubles pair of Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula won a nail-biter against Nicholas Lum and Minhyung Jee 3-2 of Australia to book a spot in the final.

However, an already bad CWG 2022 turned worse for Manika Batra as the ace Indian paddler and her partner Diya Parag lost their Women's Doubles quarter-final match. The pair of Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison also bowed out after losing in the quarter-final.
