109 push-ups in 1 min: Indian youth sets Guinness World Record

A 24-year-old from Manipur recently set a Herculean world record.

Thounaojam Niranjoy Singh set a Guinness World Record for performing the highest number of push-ups on fingertips in one minute. Singh did 109 push-ups in 60 seconds, thus breaking the old record of 105 push-ups.


He was already a two-time Guinness World Record holder before he performed the latest feat.


The event was organised on January 14 by Aztecs Sports in Manipur capital Imphal.


The world record was even hailed by Union minister Kiren Rijiju. The law minister said that it was amazing to see the unbelievable power of the young man. Rijiju said he was proud of the achievement.
